Golden Ivy is a very aromatic cocktail (beyond the garnish) that has depth and is multi-dimensional. The muddled ginger gives fresh and subtle heat complimenting the beautiful light caramel notes in cada día tequila reposado. The celery gives it a little body and brightness which balances the spicy agave syrup and the cooked agave from the reposado. The chartreuse adds some earthiness and subtle vegetal notes. The lime rounds out the drink with balance and freshness.

Golden Ivy Ingredients

1 ½ oz cada día tequila reposado

½ oz chartreuse

¾ oz fresh-squeezed lime juice

3 inches of celery

½ inch of ginger

2 cilantro stems with leaves

Black pepper

¼ oz thai chilli agave syrup*

*Thai Chilli Agave Syrup

½ or 1 thai chilli diced

1 cup agave syrup

¼ cup water

Add all three ingredients to a pot and heat on medium until combined. Then let it cool and store in the fridge.

Golden Ivy Instructions

1. To create the celery ribbon, peel the celery and put the peel in ice water while you make the cocktail. Also, remove 4-5 cilantro leaves from the stem and save it for garnish.

2. Muddle the ginger and celery in a cocktail shaker then add the lime juice, thai chilli agave syrup, cilantro stems with leaves, chartreuse, and cada día. Add ice and shake until frosted.

3. Double strain over ice into a rocks glass and garnish with the celery ribbon, cilantro leaves and some black pepper.
